Celebrating 50 Years
The first programs offered under the name of UC Irvine were administered by University Extension in 1962. By the time UC Irvine dedicated its campus and accepted its first undergraduate students, UC Irvine Extension had served some 3,000 adult learners in Orange County. Today, UC Irvine Extension serves more than 14,000 students each year both at the UC Irvine campus, across the country and around the world, through the organization’s online learning and on-site customized employee learning programs.
