Overview

Move beyond first generation HTML-based web pages and create interactive, state-of-the-art, web-based applications that support the demands of tomorrow's e-business processes. Whether you are experienced or relatively new to the field, achieving your Web Design and Development Certificate is a significant advancement in your career development.

The program is designed to provide students with the knowledge they need to design and implement effective and dynamic websites. Students pursuing the certificate have the option of taking either the Web Design track or the Web Development track, depending on their particular area of interest.

Web Design Track

This track prepares students for careers as professional website designers, including those who are interested in designing the look, layout, and organization of websites.

Web Development Track

This track prepares students for careers as professional web developers, including those who are interested in developing functional aspects of websites including database integration, programming, and other server-side components.

Note: Students may mix courses from both tracks for certificate completion.

Certificate Eligibility and Requirements

A certificate is awarded upon completion of combined 9 units of required courses and 6 units of elective courses totaling a minimum of 15 units (150 hours) of instruction with a grade of "C" or higher in each course.

To become an official candidate in the program, students pursuing the certificate must submit a Declaration of Candidacy.
