Introduction to Event Planning ( 1.5 units )
Show Details Cultivate a clear understanding of the event planning process and develop management skills by increasing one's knowledge of protocol and best practices in the event industry. This course will introduce students to event planning tools to manage time, space, money, human resources, information, materials and problems that may arise through the event planning process. This course provides a forum for event planners to meet each other and share resources, ideas, experiences and enhancing knowledge of available resources and vendors. Students will be asked to plan an event during the 5 week course. They will be placed in groups and given specific parameters for their assigned event. At the end of the course they will present their completed event with specific details regarding scope, theme, budget, etc.
