The Chartered Financial Analyst® (CFA) designation, awarded by the CFA Institute, is a self-study, graduate-level program for investment professionals. The program requires candidates to study for and sequentially pass three levels of exams to earn charter status.
University of California, Irvine Extension offers three live CFA Review Courses that feature CFA Institute-accepted curriculum to prepare candidates for each level of the CFA exams—Levels I, II and III.

CFA Level I review course
- Focuses on the broad topic areas involved in investor relations
- Familiarizes students with the Level I Learning Outcome Statements (LOS)
CFA Level II review course
- Emphasizes the application of the investment tools and concepts learned in Level I
- Teaches students to analyze specific equity and fixed-income securities and other investments; estimate expected investment return and risk; compare alternative investment choices; and make investment recommendations
- Focuses on asset valuation, providing candidates with a thorough understanding of industry and company analysis
CFA Level III review course
- Prepares students to calculate investor constraints; analyze capital-market expectations, and make asset-allocation decisions
