Systems Analyst
This
certificate program is being discontinued because of low enrollment and we
can no longer accept candidacy requests. Students who have already completed
two or more of the systems analyst courses will be able to apply
them toward the Business
Analyst Certficate Program and receive a special designation
indicating a specialization in systems analysis: Business Analyst Certificate
with an Emphasis in Systems Analysis. We will continue to offer Foundations
of Systems Analysis as an elective in the Business Analyst Certificate Program.

- Migration Strategies for Legacy Systems and Software
Students who have already applied for candidacy in the Systems Analyst Certificate
Program will have their candidacies transferred to the Business Analyst certificate
program. Students who do not wish to receive the Business Analyst certifcate
may request a candidacy fee refund by contacting University
Extension Student Services.
According to the U.S. Department of Labor’s 2002 – 2003 Edition
of the Occupational Outlook Handbook, “...systems analysts, computer
scientists, and database administrators are projected to be among the fastest
growing occupations” through
2010.
UC Irvine Extension’s Systems Analyst Certificate Program addresses the activities that a systems analyst may encounter in supporting an organization’s computing needs, beginning with gathering requirements from prospective users to implementing a quality control procedure for a fully deployed business solution.
