An elective course in the Paralegal Certificate Program. Eligible participants will earn up to 9 hours of general MCLE credit based on attendance. Gain an understanding of issues both directly and indirectly related to loan modifications, short sales, and foreclosure process. Explore the realities of the current real estate and financial market by focusing on financing, mortgages, work-out plans, short sales, taxes, BPO's, deeds in lieu, foreclosure, deficiency, and evictions. Become well informed on the workout and foreclosure process which will help defer or take advantage of the foreclosure market.
William T. Tanner, J.D., is supervising attorney for the Legal Aid Society of Orange County where he oversees the Legal Aid Hotline, Low-Income Taxpayer Clinic, Small Claims Court Advisory Program of Orange County and I-CAN!, and supervises the training of approximately 30 law students and paralegals. Prior to joining Legal Aid, he worked at California Rural Legal Assistance where he represented seniors and migrant farm workers in civil matters. Mr. Tanner has taught Business Law, Real Estate Law, Legal Aspects of Real Estate, Property Law, Civil Litigation II, Civil Litigation III, Tort Law, and Ethics at UC Irvine Extension and MTSAC.
