A required course in the Paralegal Certificate Program. This course will present an overview of legal writing and analysis, including the various categories of legal writing. Students draft legal documents including pleadings, memoranda, and discovery, and learn the procedures generally undertaken from initial client interviews through trial and post-trial procedures. Good writing styles will be reviewed as students develop the skills necessary for drafting correspondence, pleadings and other legal documents. There are three scheduled synchronous WebEx sessions as shown below. A computer and phone is required. Please refer to the Paralegal Online FAQs. See enrollment confirmation for login info.
Theresa Brennan Marji, J.D., is a civil law attorney with experience in estate planning/probate, elder law, civil litigation, real property, family law and corporate cases. In addition to her law practice, she has experience teaching civil law courses in paralegal programs.
