When communicating with colleagues, precision and clarity is the key to successfully getting your project completed. When communicating with clients, it may be important to avoid complicated technical language to get your point understood. This course will help you to discuss, explain, and express yourself in writing and conversational English by utilizing your own knowledge and expertise about your particular field of engineering.
Case studies, projects, and discussion of current trends will help you problem-solve within the context of international teams and projects. You will learn to use effective communication skills to be able to explain specifications, products and services, technical data, processes and procedures, and present facts and figures in a professional and relevant way.
Bridgette Jeffcoat, B.S., Linguistics and TESL certificate, has been with UCI Extension since 1991.
