Contract Law: Formation (Section 1)

MGMT X407.3  (3)

A required course in the Management of Business Contracts Certificate Program.
Understanding the contract formation process requires a working knowledge of stakeholder requirements, negotiation practices, applicable common law, Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR), Uniform Commercial Code (UCC) and other local, state and federal regulations and law that must be adhered to throughout the formation process. This class explores all of those requirements as well as contract wording, intent, internal business requirements and practices, risk management, sourcing methods and other factors influencing the formation and drafting process. The process will be viewed from a variety of perspectives up and down the supply chain, involving governmental entities and commercial businesses, and from points of time prior to negotiation through contract performance. University of California, Irvine Extension is a State Bar of California approved MCLE provider (provider number 2560). Eligible participants will earn up to 30 hours of general MCLE credit. MCLE hours are based on the actual number of hours a student is logged in to the course, up to a maximum of 30 hours. This course is conducted through our online course management system. In addition, students are required to participate in 1-hour synchronous discussions. A computer and a phone is required. See enrollment confirmation or website for specific WebEx dates.
