A required course for TESL.
Demystify the language acquisition process and gain a thorough understanding of the theories and factors in first and second language development. Explore the psychological, cognitive, sociocultural, and pedagogical factors that affect language learning and current teaching methods. This course includes four online sessions.

Alva Lefevre, Ph.D., holds a doctorate in Institutional Management from Pepperdine University. Lefevre has been an educator for 28 years serving as an ESL and foreign language teacher, site ESL coordinator, mentor teacher and region advisor for Los Angeles USD, and as a teacher trainer and consultant. Lefevre is fluent in Spanish and French.
