An elective course in the Certificate Programs in Personal Financial Planning and Investor Relations. The stock market can be an alternative for investors who are willing to assume a greater risk. This advanced course allows you to take your knowledge of this volatile market to a higher level. Learn how to guide your clients in making more informed choices by using practical analysis to buy publicly traded businesses. You will learn methods for industry research, financial statement analysis and specific company valuation. Several case studies give you practical, hands-on experience in selecting and applying the analytical techniques appropriate for a variety of companies and industries. Prerequisite: Mgmt X433.1, Investments in Personal Financial Planning or equivalent experience. Early registration recommended.
Wade Slome, CFA®, CFP®, is the president/founder of Sidoxia Capital Management, LLC. He is the author of "How I Managed $20,000,000,000.00 by Age 32" and publisher of investment blog InvestingCaffeine.com. Slome has worked in the investment industry since 1993 (William O'Neil & Co. and American Century Investments). Bloomberg identified him as the second youngest manager among the largest 25 actively-managed mutual funds in 2005. He has been seen on ACB News and quoted in USA Today, The New York Times, Dow Jones, Investor's Business Daily, Bloomberg, and Smart Money. Slome has an MBA from Cornell University and an Economics degree from UCLA.
