Contracts are a crucial facet of the law. Understanding the essential elements which create binding and enforceable contracts is imperative for paralegals. This class will explore the law of contracts, enforceability of agreements, affirmative defenses relating to contracts including the Statute of Frauds, performance obligations under contracts, and breach of contract. Using case studies, you will analyze contract scenarios, learn to identify contract issues, and learn drafting skills relating to contract documents.

Nilam Patel, J.D., is an attorney and trial consultant for Nextpoint, Inc. She has extensive experience in delivering presentations in the courtroom, among colleagues and in large group meetings. Patel has also served on the Board of Directors in the South Asian Bar Association since 2005.
