Applied Anatomy and Physiology for Clinical Studies (Section 1)

An elective course in the Certificate Programs in Medical Product Development and Clinical Trials: Medical Device and Drug Development.
Whether designing investigational drugs and medical devices or conducting clinical trials, it is important to have a basic understanding of the form and function of the human body. Learn about human anatomy and physiology as related to pharmaceuticals and medical device design for clinical studies. Clinical examples and modeling techniques are used to demonstrate the applications of anatomy and physiology in the development of investigational drugs and medical devices. Course focus is on human safety in clinical studies. Provider approved by the California Board of Registered Nursing, Provider Number 00093, for 30 contact hours. Jody L. Errandi, M.S., is the director of clinical affairs at MiCardia Corporation. She has worked in clinical research managing clinical trials for investigational devices/pharmaceuticals for physicians, surgeons, and medical device companies since 2000.
