JavaScript Programming (Section 1)

A required course in the Web Design and Development Specialized Studies Program.
JavaScript is a programming language that allows you to add a significant amount of functionality to what would otherwise be a static web page. You'll learn the fundamentals of event-driven programming, how to implement loops and control structures, and how to add compelling interactive features to your web pages. Prerequisites: I&CSCI X471.03 Web Development with HTML or equivalent knowledge; excellent analytical and sequential thinking skills. This course is conducted through our online course management system. In addition, there are three scheduled WebEx sessions.

Kevin Hanegan, B.S., is the author of 4 programming books: Building State-of-the-Art Web Pages, Custom CGI Scripting with Perl, Practical Guide to Curl, and Building Solutions with the DecisionSite Analytics Platform. He has worked for a variety of software companies, universities, and corporate training centers as a course developer, trainer and consultant. He currently is Director of Educational Services for TIBCO Software.
