A required course in the Certificate Program in Project Management. Project success is achieved by project managers and teams skilled in coping with project risks. Making good decisions, using proven processes requires both training and experience. This course provides participants with in-depth practice in applying both subjective and quantitative methods to an actual project situation. The opportunity to learn from peers is realized through risk analysis exercises, case studies, and persuasive presentations that demonstrate key techniques. Successful project managers know how to recognize, assess, and respond to project risks in an appropriate, cost effective manner; and how to make better decisions as a result. You will learn how these techniques are applicable in various project environments. Based upon the processes in PMBOK Guide®, participants will learn how to discover, assess and address the project risks in a real project. Gain the advantages that project risk management can bring to your business - successful projects, with more predictable and effective outcomes. Prerequisite: Mgmt X442.28, Introduction to Project Management Principles and Practices. If the potential participant has had significant experience managing projects, they may be allowed to waive the prerequisite requirement with the express permission of the instructor. This course is approved for 24 PDUs from PMI.
