An elective course in the Certificate Program in Project Management and Business of Teaching Online. This course will provide an overall understanding of the fundamentals of project scheduling with use of Microsoft Project for Windows. It will emphasize the importance to the project manager of first defining the total project with use of a Work Breakdown Structure (WBS), then formally issuing and controlling the project with use of a Project Master Schedule (PMS). Class participants will learn the major area of knowledge for planning projects with Microsoft Project 2007 software. This course will provide participants the skills needed to enhance the outcomes of their projects. This course is approved for 14 PDUs from PMI.
John N. Chen, M.B.A., is Manager of Energy Development Programs for County of Orange. His extensive experience includes 16 years with two of the country's largest engineering and construction companies, Fluor Daniel and the Ralph M. Parsons Company, where he was involved in management of worldwide projects up to $3 billion. He is a registered professional engineer and general contractor.
