Mobile Development for Apple iPhone and iTouch (Section 1)

I&C SCI X402.37  (1.5)

This five week programming class will provide students with hands-on experience in Apple's development environment for the IPhone and ITouch devices. We will quickly recap how to register for the development program, download, and install the XCode development environment. We will review the Objective C programming language and compile and debug representative sample applications that illustrate the iPhone specific features. For the majority of the time you will implement a game with animated user interface as well as a learning tool from scratch. This allows you to become confident with Objective C code, the graphical user interface builder, and overall project integration. The class will also integrate phone specific features like accelerometer, touch screen, GEO positioning, sound, and web access. The target groups for this course are developers, testers as well as business analysts interested in this successful technology. Prerequisites: Good understanding of object-oriented programming language like C#, C++, or Java. Students are required to bring their Apple computer to class.
