Learn to use Microsoft Visual Studio.NET, the .NET SDK and the .NET Framework to architect and develop web- and Windows-based applications. This hands-on course provides an overview of the .NET Framework and introduces the Visual Studio.NET toolset, including the C# and VB.NET programming languages, the Common Language Runtime, and the .NET Framework Class Library. You'll learn how to build WinForm, WebForm and Web Services applications, and how to use XML and SOAP for remote object access. You'll also gain an understanding of how to architect solutions utilizing ASP.NET, ADO.NET, and COM/COM+ compatibility. Prerequisites: No formal prerequisites are required, but a general knowledge of multitier application development, HTML and either VB or C++ is desirable. Familiarity with ASP, XML, COM/COM+ and IIS will also be helpful.
