An elective course for the Java Certificate Program. AJAX (Asynchronous JavaScript with XML) is used to create web applications with rich graphical user interfaces that rival desktop applications. This fast-paced hands-on course is designed for the experienced Java web developer seeking to build interactive web applications that immediately respond to user input. This course focuses on the skills necessary to integrate AJAX into already existing web applications by highlighting common design problems eliminated by AJAX. Prerequisites: This course requires a minimum of one year of web application development using Java. Familiarity with JavaScript and HTML is highly recommended.
Kesha Smith, M.S., supervises a team of developers implementing Java and Oracle technology solutions for Chick-fil-A, Inc. She has more than a decade of experience in web development using Java technologies. Her expertise includes web design, programming, systems analysis and design, and project management. She has served as Java consultant and corporate trainer to major corporations in the airline, medical, and restaurant industries. Also, she has worked with the U.S. Air Force and other government agencies related to national security.
