An elective course in the Independent Educational Consultant Certificate Program. This course focuses on the transfer admission policies and procedures, the advantages and disadvantages of gap year programs and how summer and gap year planning fits into the college planning process. Marilyn G.S. Emerson, MSW, CEP, President of College Planning Services, Inc., counsels students applying to college and to graduate school. She is an instructor for UCLA Extension, where she teachers the Special Issues in College Admission Counseling course. Ms. Emerson is a member of the Board of Directors and Chairperson of the Membership Committee of the Independent Educational Consultants Association.
