A prerequisite to all other courses in the Certificate Program in Light Construction and Development Management. What skills and knowledge do you need to successfully manage a residential construction development project? This course gives you insight into the scope of the job, the skills and knowledge necessary and the courses required in this certificate program. This course identified the steps associated with the development of a residential, commercial, retail or light industrial construction or land development project. Gain the foundation of knowledge you need by exploring topics including company structure and organization, site and marketing analysis project planning and costing, governmental entitlement, finance and financial controls, construction operations, and implementing a marketing plan. Learn the fundamentals of light construction and development management. Enrollment limited. Early enrollment advised.
Scott Gale, M.B.A, is a partner at Bluestone Communities, a Southern California land developer specializing in master-planned communities. He has gained comprehensive real estate development and homebuilding experience through diverse roles in land acquisitions, project management, and real estate capital markets. His past experience include Vice President of Land Acquisitions at Shea Homes Inland Empire, Project Manager for Woodside Homes, and Senior Consultant in the Real Estate Capital Markets Groups of Ernst & Young Kenneth Leventhal.
