A required course in the Certificate Program in Investor Relations.
This capstone course includes topics such as structuring an IR program, shareholder relations, the two-dimensional role of the IR function, the position of the IR professional in the management structure, recent changes in the profession, and the impact of technological advances, especially as they pertain to information gathering, analysis, and communication. Students will be required to complete an integrative mini-project which will be decided upon by consultation with the instructor. Recommended prerequisite: all other core courses. Ann M. Jones, B.A., is a partner in the Investor Relations firm Jones, Dolan & Company, located in Irvine. Jones specializes in customized Investor Relations programs for NYSE or Nasdaq companies ranging from small to large capitalization. She is a member of the National Investor Relations Institute (NIRI) and has served on the Board of Directors of the award-winning NIRI Orange County Chapter for the past 7 years. She is a member of the Small Cap Volunteer Advisory Board for NIRI. Jones is a member of the Advisory Board for the Investor Relations Certificate Program at UC Irvine Extension and has received the Outstanding Alumni Award from UCI Extension. She is also a Notary Public for the State of California.
