The 10-Week Intensive ESL Program has significantly improved my speaking and writing. The professional and well-trained instructors work closely with each student to achieve successful results. Also, I benefited from the exposure to the American educational system and culture, which helped me get my ‘student spirit’ back after not attending school for a long time.

Knowing that my English skills are strong enough to meet American university degree program requirements, I am more confident to start my graduate program.

The enthusiastic and inspiring instructors from the 10-Week Intensive ESL Program helped me keep up with American students in my Evening Certificate Program (ECP) in Business Administration. The ECP has given me a deep understanding of not only the foundations of business administration, but also of American values and culture.

I am sure that this experience will help me achieve my future career goals.

ECP Business Administration

The UC Irvine Accelerated Certificate Programs (ACPs) were a vital step to my professional career, because I had the opportunity to apply the valuable knowledge and skills learned into the real business life of my internship program.

My internship at Laguna Cliffs Marriott was the greatest opportunity for my professional career. While I improved my English skills, I also learned the business culture in the United States.

ACP Business Administration

The International Hospitality Management Certificate Program opened an array of possibilities of what the hospitality industry can offer me. The instructors are professionals whom are experts in their field and bring practical and real-life learning.

Through my internship at The Ritz Carlton, Dana Point, I received professional training as a Quality Analyst to execute projects to improve the guests’ hotel experience. Next, I am excited to return to The Ritz Carlton through the OPT program.

From Great Conversations … to Great Friends

The Communication Club is a fun and great way for you to meet our campus students and local residents, while practicing your conversational English.

Share your language and culture
Learn more about American culture
Have fun with club members getting a bite to eat, going shopping, or catching a movie!

How it works:
When you arrive to UC Irvine, sign up to be matched with a Communication Club member at our activities office.
You will be partnered with a campus student or local resident and, on your own, meet once a week, or however often you’d like.
During the quarter, we schedule group activities, such as our popular beach bonfire, for all international students and Communication Club members to attend!

“Meeting international students through The Communication Club has been a meaningful and priceless cultural experience. It increased my desire to learn about the different cultures that international students bring with them.”

Ryan Trinidad, UC Irvine Student,
Majors: Philosophy & Education
