Ordering Textbooks
- Orders for textbooks for your course should be placed with your program planning department.
- You will receive a request form from your program manager.
- You should complete and return it by the specified date as students expect books to be available by the start of class.
- The UC Irvine Bookstore cannot guarantee the timely arrival of textbooks if not submitted by the required deadline. Students then will receive their books late which often interrupts course plans.
Copyright Restrictions
We respect the well established copyright and patent laws which exist to protect intellectual property.
- An infringement occurs when any of the rights granted by law to the copyright owner are exercised without permission.
- The absence of copyright notice on the material does not mean that the work in question may be freely copied.
- The course materials you reproduce, copy or duplicate and distribute may be copyrighted.
- You are solely responsible for complying with all copyright laws, including obtaining written permission for the copyrighted materials for use in your course.
- You must obtain written permission from the copyright owner for every quarter that the materials are used. UC Irvine Extension will facilitate this for you so long as enough time is allowed. If you would like UC Irvine Extension to obtain this written permission, please contact your program manager.
- For further information, a copy of "Questions and Answers on Copyright for the Campus Community" is available for purchase at the UC Irvine Bookstore.
