International Certificate Programs

 

Requirements

  • Campus PhotoA university degree and/or substantial experience in an area related to the certificate you wish to pursue
  • A minimum score of 197 on the TOEFL, (530 on the paper-based), 71 on the iBT, 710 on the TOEIC or other evidence of advanced English language proficiency (To increase your fluency prior to enrolling in a certificate program, consider our ESL options.)
  • Consent of the Admissions Committee
  • Additional requirements for some certificate programs (Please inquire)

All certificate programs at UC Irvine Extension require professional-level English language proficiency in listening and note-taking, reading comprehension and vocabulary, written expression, and oral presentation. International students who do not meet certificate program admissions requirements are invited to enroll first in one of our English language program offerings.

Optional Practical Training (OPT)

Campus PhotoAfter nine months of full-time study in one or more certificate programs, you may be eligible for up to a year of Optional Practical Training (OPT).
