SC 202 INTEGRATIVE MEDICINE
Integrative medicine is an approach to treatment that uses conventional medical treatments alongside other practices (e.g., nutritional supplements, herbal remedies, massage, acupuncture, hypnotherapy, etc.), for which there is some high-quality scientific evidence of their safety and effectiveness. One of its important characteristics is that it considers the mind-body-spirit connection within the patient and regards the patient as a whole.
