AH 111 GREAT CONVERSATIONS 5
The Great Books/Great Conversations series will present 16 selections for Fall 2009 and Spring 2010, beginning with Euripes "Hekabe" (5th C) and ending with Doris Lessing's "To Room 19," (1978). Included are Welty, Lawrence, Hawthorne, Ryunoskue, poetry by Keats, and essays in science, economics and philosophy. Subject matter includes: political and sexual dilemmas, psychology and ethics of war, and the interplay between economics and justice.
These well-crafted works can be interpreted in varied ways, beyond simple analysis to questions inspiring deeper reflection. Readers are invited to participate in the shared inquiry discussion developed by The Great Books Foundation. Please order directly from Great Books Foundation at 1-800-222-5870.
