Part Two explained the historical evolution of the various peoples of the area. The following topics will be covered in Part Three.

Week Two: The Struggle for the Mediterranean: Crusaders, Corsairs and Turks.

Week Three: Turkish Rule and Moroccan Independence -- The USA "Invasion"

Week Four: European Colonialism in the Maghreb: French, Spanish and Italian

Week Five: Independence and Its Aftermath -- The Maghreb Today

Course Developer/Presenter:
The "traveler" is John Bush, Ph.D., and an OLLI member who has presented a number of classes in science. He has traveled rather extensively in the countries of the Maghreb and will supplement the lectures with his photographs, documentary DVDs, and examples of the music and art of the region.
