SE 13 DIRECTOR'S VOICE
"BLUE LIGHT"
Based on a true story, this is the world premiere of a multi-media performance about adventure and tragedy in the abandoned Blue Light silver mines high in the Santa Ana mountains. Entwining text, projection and movement, the viewer goes on a journey somewhere between abandon and control, fueled by rock and roll and the lure of risk-taking. Created by Annie Loui, text by Michelle Latiolais.
Presenter: Director Annie Loui, UCI Associate Professor of Movement. Trained in Paris as a dancer and choreographer, she has created original work seen in Europe and the U.S. She has taught at Harvard and Brandeis as well as choreographed for the American Repertory Theater, Trinity Repertory Theater and NY's Signature Theater.
