SE 9 CHILDREN'S BOOKS - THE ART OF ILLUSTRATION
Choosing from a myriad of illustrated children's books is an art in itself. Our presenter hosts an annual event showcasing outstanding illustrators who best complement the words of the author. This year, Chemers Gallery invites OLLI members to a pre-show of their selection of illustrators, explaining the unique techniques that hope to catch the imagination of children. Sometimes didactic, sometimes "merely" entertaining, always bold and beautiful, the literary themes are wide and wonderful! Not to be left behind, we will learn why adults value these books as much as children, often buying for their very own collections. This is not for grandparents only!
Presenter: Karen Raab, multi-faceted owner and artistic director of Chemers Gallery, holds a Bachelor's degree in physiology and toxicology and a Master's of Business Administration. In-the-know Orange County residents are familiar with Ms. Raab for her generous contributions to the community as well as for her "artistic eye."
