IN & AROUND UNION STATION
An OLLI Fund-Raising Event

Take a train from Irvine to historic Union Station in downtown Los Angeles.
Highlights include:
- Round trip train ride via Amtrak from Irvine to Union Station
- Los Angeles Conservancy walking tour of Union Station, focusing on architecture, art, culture & social history
-Tour of murals at Metropolitan Water District (MWD) corporate offices adjacent to Union Station
- Lunch on your own (Olivera Street, Chinatown, Philippi's Famous French Dip,
or MWD cafeteria are some of your options)
- Self- guided tour of the Plaza, historic birthplace of the City of the Angels.
Highlights include Pio Pico house (California's first governor), Sepulveda House (Eastlake-style Victorian), Avila Adobe (now a museum and the oldest building in Los Angeles), Old Plaza Church, and Firehouse No. 1(museum of fire-fighting equipment)
- Docent- led tour of Chinese American Museum
- Return to Union Station to catch train back to Irvine.

NOTE: There will be a lot of walking and not many places to sit, so please wear comfortable walking shoes and bring water. For train security purposes and for entrance to the MWD corporate office and cafeteria, you must bring a driver's license containing your photo and your birth date.

Arrive Irvine Regional Transportation Center no later than 8:00 a.m. The Irvine Regional Transportation Center is located at 15215 Barranca Parkway, Irvine.

Cost: $49 (includes round trip train travel from Irvine to Los Angeles Union Station [and return], all admissions, decent-led tours and OLLI contribution.)
