… Barbara DeMarco-Barrett was awarded with a Distinguished Instructor Award for 2001. As well as teaching creative writing through UCI Extension, DeMarco-Barrett is the "Women's Business" columnist for OC METRO Magazine, "Open House" columnist for Orange Coast, and "Environs" columnist for OC Home. She is also president of the Southern California chapter of the American Society of Journalists and Authors and acts as public affairs director for KUCI, the FM station that broadcasts from the UCI campus where she hosts "Writers on Writing," every Thursday.
