Marketing Course at UCI

The Sales and Marketing Council of the Building Industry Associations of Southern California is offering a "Marketing Strategies, Plans and budgets" course, beginning Tuesday, Jan. 8, at UC Irvine.
The Institute of Residential Marketing course is offered through UCI Extension. Michael J. Hixson, a senior vice president of Prudential New Homes Real Estate and past president of the National Association of Home Builders Institute of Residential Marketing, is the course instructor.
The course focuses on the planning and budgeting of marketing for home-building firms and covers such subjects as the creation of a marketing plan, marketing strategies, product design, positioning within a marketplace, the formation of community associations, marketing budges and pricing.
Guest lecturers tentatively scheduled are architect Art Danielian, marketing consultant Lester Goodman, marketing executive Rita Lamkin and former Department of Real Estate Deputy Attorney Scott Turner. Also planned is a presentation by cultural consultant Angie Ma Wong.
The course runs 10 consecutive Tuesdays, Jan. 8 to March 12, from 6:30 to 9:30 pm. Information: (949) 824-5414.
