World of Summer Fun for Your Kids

From the Newport News – July 4, 2003

Do you have children between the ages of 13 and 16? Would you like to give them an opportunity to make new friends, learn a foreign language and participate in a variety of fun-filled activities for three weeks this summer? Well, there's a whole new world of knowledge awaiting your youngsters at UC Irvine Extension with the Japanese Language and Cultural Exchange Program!

This valuable program will team your children up with visiting Japanese students for approximately three weeks of language and cultural studies from July 20th – August 7th. The daily morning sessions provide Japanese language and cultural instruction from 9am-noon for American students while the Japanese students study English. In the afternoons, your kids will join their Japanese "buddies" for optimum sharing and learning experiences as they play at Disneyland, enjoy the beach, visit Knott's Berry Farm, and more.

If you would like more information, please contact the program manager, Michelle Ryan, at (949) 824-5681 or maryan@uci.edu.
