UCI Extension Training Workers

UC Irvine Extension has been named a training partner with Southeast Los Angeles County Workforce Investment Board.

Founded in the early 1980s as a nonprofit agency, the board works with state and federal funding to assist dislocated workers and help businesses in the Los Angeles region. In conjunction with the Employee Training Panel, the board can assist manufacturing firms anywhere in the state.

The Workforce Investment Board selects its own training vendors, which include UCLA and UC Riverside, as well as UCI Extension , according to Larry Lee, business services manager of the jobs program which has trained more than 550,000 workers for employers.
