UC Irvine Extension Adds Three New Certificate Program Offerings

IRVINE, Calif. – October 2003 – UC Irvine Extension will offer students three brand-new certificates this fall, pushing the total number of its program offerings to 40. New certificate programs include Business Analyst, IT Management, and Design & Management of Online Learning.

The Business Analyst Certificate Program, the first of its kind in Orange County, is designed specifically for professionals who wish to enhance their business analysis capabilities as well as those who are seeking new opportunities in this emerging field. Students develop core skills and enhance their ability to facilitate exchange between functional departments that have business issues and the IT department that can develop technology solutions.

Professionals can become an even bigger asset to their organization's team by developing new agile sets with the IT Management Certificate Program. Students learn about such topics as project management, rapid software development, process improvement, and database administration.

The new Design & Management of Online Learning Certificate Program – offered exclusively online – covers the methodology, skills and techniques for linking e-learning strategies with business practices. The content will benefit trainers, training managers, and all other professionals involved in an organization's training processes and e-learning development programs.

A certificate at UC Irvine Extension helps students gain proficiency in a particular subject matter through a variety of course offerings. It can boost a student's chances of career advancement, increase their value to an employer, provide the opportunity to transition to a new career, or even help them develop a new specialty in a current career.

Among UC Irvine Extension's certificate topics are project management, human resource management, digital arts, and a variety of different information technology subjects. A certificate program at UC Irvine Extension provides the latest in cutting-edge ideas, information, and practical skills that can be used immediately on the job. Some certificates can be completed in less than a year, and course instructors are leading industry experts in their fields as well as experienced teachers.
