UC Irvine Extension Offers Unique Business Seminar on Innovative Product Development
IRVINE, Calif. – February 2004 – During a new, three-hour seminar, UC Irvine Extension will explore the top priority for reviving and revitalizing a business – innovation. Radical Innovation for New Product Development reveals a proven, step-by-step approach to developing breakthrough products and a more profitable business.
Participants will learn concrete strategies and tactics for developing compelling product designs and features, increasing market share and revenue, improving internal processes and procedures, enhancing staff productivity and motivation, and more.
"Traditional business rejuvenation efforts like reorganization, downsizing, price-cutting, process efficiency, and leaner manufacturing are ultimately futile without radical innovation across your organization," says Bill Dresselhaus, instructor for the seminar. "What's really needed is an innovation cookbook – a 'How To' manual with images of the 'food,' and delicious, visualized recipes for creating a truly innovative company. If you follow this cookbook and apply this process, you will increase your ability to develop new and radical ideas across your enterprise."
Dresselhaus has an M.S. in product design from Stanford University and an M.S. in chemical engineering from Iowa State University. He provides management, consulting and training internationally to entrepreneurs, corporations, and educational institutions for revolutionary business success. A member of the original product design team at Apple Computer, Dresselhaus' list of clients includes Sun Microsystems, Silicon Graphics, Hewlett Packard, and many others.
The seminar takes place on Tuesday, February 24, from 6:30-9:30pm, on the UC Irvine campus. Please call (949) 824-5414 or visit www.unex.uci.edu for more information or to register.
