Do you have a new invention? Technology commercialization is a process of developing your research from the concept to a practical application/product release with a market value. This commercialization process involves a series of steps starting with the protection of a technology in the form of a patent to the transfer to an Industry partner through licensing and co-development. This webinar will discuss the role of researchers in protection and commercialization of their inventions. Kamala Janiyani, Ph. D

Many students think writing is too difficult or just plain boring. Movies, on the other hand, are pretty awesome. Kids get movies. Once students make the connection between their personal statements and the movies they watch, the task becomes more creative, inspiring and fun. In this workshop, Ethan Sawyer (aka College Essay Guy) will teach you: the five elements of a great story, the difference between a character’s internal and external journey, and why the ending to Finding Nemo makes us cry every single time. There are many essay-writing resources out there. Few resources, however, are as fun, creative--and yes, as practical--as those offered in this webinar. Ethan will provide resources so you can use these tools right away. The webinar will also include pre-registration advisement for individuals interested in UC Irvine Extension's fully online Independent Educational Consultant Certificate Program.
